February Programming at The Vibrant Community

This includes our capacity to grow stronger through artistic, economic, environmental, and traditional healing methods. Inspired by the words of Gloria Anzaldua, we believe that as “We Change Ourselves, We Change the World” and we are working hard to create a Vibrant Community that extends through each of us and supports all our communities in shining. The Vibrant Community space (located at 1414 E Commerce) is both store-front and cultural space. We invite you to join, and grow with us during our FEB in-store events. See you soon, beloveds.

Feb 7, 2-4PM: (FREE) Join our partner organization, Southwest Workers Union, for a FREE Compost Tumbler Workshop in the Roots of Change Urban Garden and Co-Op (directly behind The Vibrant Community)

Feb. 8, 2-6PM: (FREE) Come-Unity: Learn, Shop, & Connect!y: Mujeres Mercado is proud to welcome Texas Latino Bloggers to the Vibrant Community for Come-Unity: Learn, Shop, + Connect! We invite you to join us from 2-3pm for a blogger mixer with guest speakers, Anel Flores, Melanie Mendez-Gonzales of Qué Means What, Michelle Rodriguez of Family Love In San Antonio. Following the mixer, we invite you to come and meet some of The Vibrant Community artistas and shop #hechoamano with some of SA’s best handmade work.

Feb. 15, 1-5PM: ($60-80 sliding scale) Crystal & Stone Healing Workshop/Practicum : A Hands-On workshop with master Crystal Healer Rose Twofeathers Hernandez. Participants will learn workhop use of Gemstones and Quartz Crystals on the body and workshop includes time for practicum.

Feb. 19, 6:30 – 8PM: ($40 – with limited sliding scale slots) Mujeres Mercado presents: Kombucha Workshop with Liz Schau is a fermented, slightly sweet, sour, bubbly, fruity drink that is full of probiotics and healthy acids for your immune and hormone health. It tastes like carbonated, tangy, sweet fruit juice and is crammed full of healing properties. Come learn more about it, including how to make it and take a scoby home to make your own!

Feb 21, 10am- noon: ($25 pre-registered, $35 at event) Mujeres Mercado presents: Bookbinding for Kids! with Tortuga Journals – Come learn bookbinding with Christopher Ornelas of Tortuga Journals! Students will leave with completed project made from upcycled items —- follow link for more info.

Feb. 28, 12-2: (by donation) Consultations with Liz Schau, Holistic Health Counseling. Liz Schau is a Certified Holistic Health Coach and member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. Liz specializes in therapeutic nutrition, supplements, and genetic mutation therapies for women with thyroid disease, autoimmune diseases, and Fibromylagia and Chronic Fatigue. Liz put her own Hashimoto’s Thyroid disease into remission and has been med-free since 2009. She will be in-store to offer one-on-one consultations with YOU! Want to learn more or schedule some time?
